The Bureau has been featured by Adobe in Case Study in our implementation across all our output devices using Adobe’s PDF Print Engine. The Bureau is excited to be one of the first printing companies to implement this technology with the help of Kodak and the Nexpress and Prinergy workflow solutions.

The upgrade improves the speed of the device to 100 A4 or letter sized impressions per minute as well as significant quality and productivity improvements.

These upgrades represent The Bureau’s continual commitment to invest in digital print and to achieve offset class quality with digital technology.

These improvements allow us to achieve consistent color and improve the speed at which we can reach color. It also allows us to store press run data for re-runs later that are spot on to the previous run.

The glosser allows us to achieve a UV or laminated look that is environmentally more friendly then UV and without using plastic film.

We are using state of the art Kodak Insite Storefront technology that automates the printing process and can be used for both offset and digital work.

We now off Storefront ordering capabilities, from a static catalog of products, template based pdf uploads or personalized and/or customized Variable Data templates.

Besides the Storefront capabilities we are pleased to have our Insite system allow access to your jobs in prepress and use the Insite system to collaborate, upload and communicate with our prepress department.

On top of the Insite system, we have Kodak’s Creative Desktop application available featuring Kodak TeamWorks and Eyemedia which help you manage your creative assets via the web or Mac or PC application and help with the collaboration and project management tasks for ongoing document production.

Our first Kodak Nexpress 2500 also has had the inline bookletmaker added to it. The inline bookletmaker can produce saddlestitch booklets up to 13 x 9 finished size. It also can be used offline to do hybrid work, mixing offset printed pieces or black only Kodak Digimaster E125 output in its 8 collating bins. It also features squarefolding which produces a perfect bound like appearance.

The Kodak Nexpress 2500 is as productive as the iGen3 but offers higher resolution printing and a fifth color station which can produce red, green or blue spots which extend the gamut beyond traditional CMYK devices to achieve better Pantone reproduction. Also, the fifth station is cabable of laying down clear toner which provides a protection coat similar to a satin varnish. We also purchased a NexGlosser which when used in conjunction with the clear toner produces a flood UV like high gloss finish on a variety of smooth coated stocks.

We can’t wait for our Watkiss bookletmaker to be installed to provide the same inline bookletmaking capabilities that our iGen3 has. Look for this add on to be installed later in July.
